How to Split VGA Cables

time2010/08/26

If your video (graphics) card only has one VGA-out connection, you will find yourself needing another if you want to use more than one VGA monitor with your computer. While it may seem like the only solution would be to buy a new video card with two VGA-out ports, there is a simpler and far cheaper solution. Buy a VGA splitter cable online (see Reference) or from an electronics store to make one VGA connection into two.
Instructions
Take the male end of the splitter cable (the end of the cable with only one connection) and connect it to your computer's VGA port. Hand-tighten the connected screws to secure it in place.
Take your VGA cables and connect them to the female ends of the splitter cable. Hand-tighten the connected screws.
Connect the other ends of your VGA cables to your VGA monitors and hand-tighten the screws in place. Your VGA cable connection has now been successfully split to two.
